Eat Right And Feel Great

By | April 19, 2011

Healthy eating doesn’t involve following strict nutrition philosophies, becoming too thin or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Eating should be a pleasurable experience and make you feel great. It should give you the energy your body needs while keeping you as healthy as possible. This can be done by practicing good nutrition which isn’t really that hard. Here are some guidelines to help you eat right:

Eat enough calories but don’t overdo it. Balance your calorie intake and calorie expenditure. In layman’s terms, that means don’t eat more food than your body uses. The average recommended daily allowance is 2,000 calories but this will depend on your age, sex, height, weight, and physical activity.

Eat a variety of foods daily. Don’t go for the same old thing over and over again. This makes eating boring and unhealthy. Expand your choices by trying foods that you don’t normally eat like vegetables, whole gains and fruits.

Eat a low fat diet. Avoid fatty foods like butter, coconut oil, saturated fats, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats, animal fats and dairy fats. They won’t do your body any good and will bring you closer to a heart attack.

Drink a lot of water. Our bodies are about 75 percent water so be sure to drink enough. Water helps flush out waste products and toxins from the body.

Don’t eat at fast food restaurant chains. These don’t have many healthy options. If you must visit them, order a salad instead.

Tips To Safe Online Shopping

By | March 13, 2011

In the past, the idea of shopping online was something strange and new. Today online shops have blossomed throughout the Internet and Americans alone spend billions of dollars annually in utilizing this service.

Two of the main advantages of online shopping are:

1.It helps you purchase items at the comfort of your own home and at the click of a mouse.

2. You save a lot of time and money because you dont have to visit the actual store and bear the long lines of people and busy traffic.

Online shopping is also safe because many web-based stores are extensions of the real thing and have similar safeguards enjoyed by regular customers. However, like everything else, the online marketplace also has some pretty bad apples. To protect you against Internet fraud and scammers who want to get your money, here are some things to remember:

Get familiar with the store. You can easily accomplish this when shopping at the mall because you can see the store, talk with sales clerks, discover who their customers are, and consider your previous experiences with them. Doing this online can be hard since you cant view the actual store; you dont know the stores customers and dont have an idea of the stores track record. Check with the Better Business Bureau or the store’s local Chamber of Commerce. They will tell you about the company’s business practices and if there are any issues with them.

Check the store’s website. If their complete address, phone number, and other vital corporate information are listed, then this looks like a legitimate business. If there is no information provided about the store on the website then it is probably best to shop somewhere else.

If you are shopping online for authentic, designer brands be especially careful. For example, if you are looking online for designer sunglasses or handbags, make sure you purchase from a trusted dealer. If you want a Coach hand bag or similar items from another well-known designer, make sure you do not get scammed. Do research and buy from an authorized dealer only.

Choosing the Right Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

By | February 19, 2011

Want to look like a movie star but confused by what sunglasses to buy? It’s actually easy if you know your face value. No, I don’t mean you have to be handsome or beautiful. All you have to do is determine the shape of your face so you can buy the perfect pair of sunglasses that will make you look like a million bucks.

To do so follow these simple steps:

1. Get a recent photo of yourself and examine it carefully. Pay attention to the prominent features of your face.

2. With a pen, mark the cheekbones, the outer edge of your eyebrows and the two sides of your jaw.

3. Here’s the fun part: connect the dots you’ve made and you’ll have a clear picture of the shape of your face.

When choosing a pair of shades, the first thing you need to take into consideration is the size of your face. Sunglasses’ size should be compatible and in proportion to the size of your face. If you have a large face, go with a larger frame size;  a smaller face will work better with smaller frames. In addition, you should also think about contrasting the frames to your face shape.

If you have an oval face: You’re lucky! This is a common face shape and there are lots of styles of sunglasses that will complement this shape. People with oval faces usually have high cheekbones and chins that are smaller than their foreheads. Almost any frame shape will fit this face. Choose one that goes with the shape of your eyebrows.

A square face: Normally has a strong jaw with wide cheekbones and forehead. Soften your face by getting sunglasses with narrow styles. Oval or round frames are best for this type of face.

Round Face: This is usually when your jaw or cheekbones aren’t well defined. Get sunglasses that lengthen or make your face slimmer. Good choices include rectangular frames or sunglasses with brow bars that make the face look longer.

According to Essortment.com, you should also avoid frames that could over emphasize the shape of your face. Round frames on an already round face will accentuate your face shape. Frames with straight lines in either a square or rectangular shape will typically work better. You may also want to pay attention to the color of the frames. Darker colored frames will add more dimension to a rounder face.

A diamond face generally has a small forehead and chin, narrow eyes and high cheekbones. Enhance your look with rounded, straight or square frames. This will widen your forehead and soften your cheekbones.

Now that you know everything that you need about buying sunglasses it should make ti a more enjoyable experience! Happy shopping!

Causes of Infertility

Infertility is a fairly common problem for women in the United States. In fact, around 6 million women ages 15-44 have difficulty getting or staying pregnant according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

So what exactly causes this? Well fertilization is a multi-step process and any problems along the way to pregnancy can result in infertility. Basically, in order for pregnancy to occur, the woman must release an egg from the ovaries which then goes through the fallopian tube, heading toward the uterus. On its path, it must be joined by a mans sperm and then implant into the uterus to begin pregnancy.

5 BIG Reasons to Buy Better Protective Sunglasses

By | March 23, 2010

Ladies, summer is almost here and while shopping for Bikini’s is sometimes not the happiest experience, shopping for sunglasses is! The important thing when buying a pair of sunglasses is that they do what they are suppose to do: protect your eyes! It is very easy to forget this when you get caught up in the fashion of it all but it is definitely something to keep. Higher price does not always mean better eye protection so make smart buying decision for this year’s pair of summer shades.

The following article is about UV Rays, how they can be very harmful on your eyes, and how to protect yourself by buying the right pair of sunglasses.

UV is short for ultraviolet light that comes mainly from the sun. There are two types – ultraviolet-A and ultraviolet-B. Both can hurt your eyes. UV-A can damage your central vision while the later is more destructive and can affect the front part of your eyes.

Over time and with repeated exposure, UV radiation can lead to a host of eye problems like these  5 big ones: macular degeneration, cataracts, skin cancer around your eyes and corneal sunburn or photokeratitis – all of which cause vision loss.

According to the UV Learning Center of Prevent Blindness America, ultraviolet light is reflected from many different reflective sources including sand, snow, water, even concrete surfaces. It can sometimes be very difficult to avoid in outdoor settings.

The easiest way to prevent this is to stay out of the sun but that’s not always an option. Your next best defense against this radiation is a good set of shades that absorbs harmful light.
When selecting a good pair of sunglasses, the most important thing to look for is labeling that indicates 100 percent UV protection and a minimum requirement blocking 400 nanometers of light. This will afford you the best protection for your money.

“When you’re choosing sunglasses, look for UV protection details on product labels. Choose sunglasses that block at least 99 percent of UV-B rays and at least 95 percent of UV-A rays. This level of UV protection is in accordance with guidelines established by the American National Standards Institute. Skip sunglasses that are labeled ‘cosmetic’ and those that don’t offer details on UV protection,” according to ophthalmologist Dr. Dennis Robertson of the Mayo Clinic.

As I said before, it doesn’t cost much to enjoy good eye protection so don’t judge sunglasses by their price. Experts say you can find the same amount of protection in a cheap pair or one that costs thousands of dollars. However, since it is not always clear how much protection sunglasses offer, don’t hesitate to ask before you buy. That way, you can choose a comfortable pair that looks good and absorbs harmful UV rays. Two great sites I know of for buying designer sunglasses with great protection are SimplySunglasses.com and BetterVisionBetterPrices.com. I’ve bought shades from both and referred my friends too. Further, any questions you might have about UV protection or anything at all, they will answer for your happily.
